Video
We have tried different ways to add sound to websites that
appeal to people with learning difficulties.
Our service users have found problems with many of them. Some
systems are very fiddly. Screen readers can be very expensive. The
mechanical voices can be distracting and hard to understand.
We have found that Video clips are the best. With our
Easy-Video-player:-
• You are using a real human voice,
• People can see where the voice is coming from,
• You can give your service users a voice - they can be the
face of your service.
We have developed new ways to use video that makes your web site
accessible to people who have no reading..
- We use video to 'read out' the text on the page - not just as
an interesting add-on
- We incorporate pictures and other video clips that makes it
even more easy to understand the information on the page,
- We include information about how to navigate the page,
- We film people with learning disabilities - so that they are
visably at the centre of the organisation.
- We use a custom, simplified video player which is very easy for
people to use and fits in with the design of your page,
- We store all the videos on the site - rather having them hosted
by You Tube - so that people can only see the videos within the
context that they were intended.
With our systems the video clips are quick and easy to film,
edit and upload whenever you need to make changes to the
information on your web pages.
